Fire/EMS Lieutenant

West Chester Township Fire Department is accepting applications for the position of Fire/EMS Lieutenant.  The successful candidate must possess advanced knowledge of firefighting, emergency medical services, hazardous material and special rescue operations.  Candidates should possess a proven record of integrity, administration and supervisory skills.

The position will be responsible for the supervision of all personnel within their command; as well as, ensuring compliance and understanding of all departmental operations, policies, guidelines and procedures of the West Chester Township Fire Department. See CBA for starting rate.

Required Qualifications include:

A minimum of four (4) years of experience in a full-time role of firefighting and EMS fields with the West Chester Township Fire Department and must meet the Standards for Professional Qualifications of Firefighter, Paramedic, Hazardous Materials Technician and Fire Inspector as set forth in current NFPA standards.  The measurement period for experience shall be from the date of career hire into the year of promotional testing. Candidate must be within their fourth (4th) year of service to be eligible for the promotional examination. Any equivalent combination of education and job experience considered.
