West Chester Township Emergency Communications Department is accepting applications for the position of Communications Supervisor (Dispatch Supervisor). The Communications Supervisor will manage the day-to-day operations of the Communications Center during assigned work hours. They will manage the personnel scheduling for Communications Officers and other Supervisors; develop and enforce the policies and procedures for the department/township; Prepare training materials for new hires and update/refresh current employees as needed. They will also perform all the job functions of the Communications Officer. Communication Officers process emergency and non-emergency calls for service and dispatch Police, Fire, and EMS using computer-aided dispatch technology.
You must be able to work rotating shifts, nights, holidays, and weekends; this is a stressful, demanding, fast-paced job involving life and death situations. The pay rate for this position is $34.05 per hour. Experience may be considered for the rate.

Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
1-3 years of emergency dispatch experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong/advanced communication skills, both verbal and written
Knowledgeable on policy and standard operating procedures/guidelines
Able to exercise sound judgement and remain calm in the midst of stressful situations
Teamwork and basic supervisory skills
Intermediate knowledge of computer usage and able to type at least 45 wpm accurately. Use of multiple computers, including 6-7 computer monitors simultaneously
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
